AT MADDA STUDIO, WE BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY AND VALUE OF THE HANDMADE PROCESS.

In a world where ready-made, mass-produced and readily disposable items are abundant, we believe in the enduring quality, variability, and beauty of handcrafted goods.

Our textiles are unique in that they incorporate and respect a long lineage of traditions—we deeply value knowledge that has been passed down through generations. Practicing in this way, we support the preservation of ancient skills by incorporating them into a contemporary vision.

At Madda Studio we strive to create an environment of collaboration and creative energy. The skilled labor involved in every stage of our processes takes care and time. Bridging the gap between our clients' timelines and those of the communities we collaborate with in a way that aligns with their lifestyle and culture has been one of our greatest challenges. We take pride in connecting these two worlds and are continuously adapting the process.

AT MADDA STUDIO WE ARE COMMITTED TO CONSISTENT LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS, RESPECT FOR THE EXPERTISE DEVELOPED BY ARTISANS OVER CENTURIES, AND THE EXCHANGE OF TECHNIQUES AND KNOWLEDGE.

Local economic development, cultural preservation, sustainability, and creating beautiful things are our pillars at Madda Studio. Maddalena Forcella has been collaborating with some of the artisans for over 25 years. The trust and confidence born out of these long-term relationships are at the foundation of our one-of-a-kind creations.

The process of local economic development is gradual, and we're always working towards strengthening it. It's extremely important to us that our creations and their processes have a positive impact on the people and communities we work with, and that the artisans' skills are valued in their communities as well as in the international market.

AT MADDA STUDIO WE ARE COMMITTED TO SOURCING SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS AND SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING STABLE EMPLOYMENT TO THE PEOPLE WITH WHOM WE WORK

Wool is the raw material of our products and the soul/heart of our work. For the volume of wool we need for our projects, we work closely with the nonprofit association El Camino de Los Altos. El Camino de Los Altos is located in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, and comprises 130 women textile artisans.

We've collaborated with El Camino de los Altos to develop a range of wool tones that we currently use in our textiles. Most recently, Madda Studio worked with the association to secure funding for the Wool Project from Los Amigos de Arte Popular.

The funds raised for the Wool Project assist in further developing the group of the spinners in Bautista Chico, a Chamula ethnic group that is part of the association El Camino de los Altos. These funds were used for providing tools, training, and raw materials to support their business.
